Still There

still thereI am prone to putting a lot of lines, shapes, colors and forms onto the canvas. Still There, a work that uses the visual vocabulary of a photographic diptych, is about realizing all that is still there in the process of emptying the canvas of some of its lines, shapes, colors and forms. To me, the work is also about letting go of emotional tangles and realizing the essential self that still remains when one has faith enough in the universe to do the work of letting go.
