Disembodied Voice

This image is about the clutter that can alter the clarity of one’s own voice. The first piece of the text on this painting was “while I am elsewhere.” From that point, I started to paint and mortar on canvas those things that swirl around me while I am elsewhere (daydreaming or disengaged). I have found that perhaps paradoxically, those elements of distraction: numbers, rocks, and plastic dinosaurs of the imagination, when reorganized, become the power behind my voice.
